1797 George III, < Cartwheel Twopence > Two ounce copper coin, struck bearing only one date. Because of its weight, it became very susceptible to edge damage, the pressure on the sharp rim when dropped on the floor being several tonnes per square inch. Incuse lettering used to foil counterfeiters. Much of this coin was melted down in 1800 when the price of copper increased. Spink 3776, CC Ref # EMTWO-1, aVF, nice detail
